Lilac Sunday

Free

Sunday, May 12

10:00am - 3:00pm

Arnold Arboretum

Yearly

Have you ever smelled a lilac? Lilacs have this soft flowery scent that fills the air without having to get too close.

Visiting the Arnold Arboretum on Lilac Sunday is the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the flower. You'll witness the Arnold Arboretum's collection of over 400 lilacs. The day will also include tours with Arboretum experts, hands-on children’s programming, and more. Bring a blanket, some water and snacks. The paths at the Arboretum are also stroller and kid-bike friendly.

What is the Arnold Arboretum? It's an outdoor museum of trees and botanicals from all over the world. On this day, visitors get to immerse themselves in the colors, blossoms, and aromas of Spring.

Below is a short 4 minute video with up-close and bird's eye views of the Arboretum landscape. We also included some cute Instagram photos of this year's lilacs.

Free parking is available along the Arborway, Bussey Street, and Walter Street. Have an amazing time!
