This year will mark the city's 3rd Fall-o-Ween Children’s Festival. We don't have the full details yet, but the event usually lasts 3 hours, takes place at the Boston Commons, and happens towards the end of October. Last year there were a ton of free activities like ...
a haunted zombie maze
jumpin' pumpkin
a spooky mansion slide
a bubble demo
a trackless train
LED swings, seesaws, and cornhole
a circus stilt walker, and
field games
Families were encouraged to wear costumes. Character onesies, are great if you have kids (like ours) who don't like to take their costumes off, which means they are wearing them throughout the winter.
If you prefer traditional costumes, this store has...
Melissa and Doug has career costumes (that aren't scary) like a pilot, astronaut, or veterinarian. Savers (in West Roxbury) has a dedicated halloween section. The closer we get to the holiday the less of a selection there is. If you donate clothes, you can also get 20% off. And finally some super adorable no-sew costumes and more thrifting options from BostonMamas.
Parking at the Boston Common Parking Garage can range from $10 to $32. Use GoogleMaps to determine if ride sharing or public transportation are better options. If you prefer driving, Spot Hero (a free app) can help you find the least expensive parking.
