Head to the Esplanade to enjoy Boston's historic musical celebration. This year, R&B/Soul group En Vogue will headline the event. The Oval (which is the grass-filled area in front of the DCR Hatch Shell opens at 12noon. Since the event is free and on a first-come-first served basis, thousands of people attend. You'll want to get there early to claim a spot. You can bring blankets, folding chairs, or a pop-up tent with no sides. Glass bottles, backpacks, cans and coolers are not allowed. For a full list of what you can and can not bring, as well as other things to know before you go, visit The Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) here. The concert begins at 8:00pm, and the fireworks start around 10:30pm.
Below are previews of previous celebrations.
Public transportation or ride-sharing is the probably the best option for traveling, as Storrow Drive will be closed to vehicles at some point in the day.
Not a fan of crowds or just prefer to stay home? You can watch the show live on Channel 7 starting at 8:00pm.
