While the author doesn't specify what Jenny Mei is sad about, you get a hint when you notice her different triggers throughout the day. She leaves her house with her head hanging low and she angrily rips her classmates picture after the teacher gives them an assignment to draw their family. In between these incidents she is joking, smiling and has a ton of energy. My guess is that her family is going through a tough time. What do you think is making Jenny Mai sad?
