4 Types of Baby Curls

Baby curls are fascinating to explore. They come in so many shapes, sizes, and patterns. We describe the four main types.

  • Tight curls are super springy and look like micro coils.

  • Loose curls are fairly springy and look like large ringlets.

  • Sparse curls have large spaces between each strand making the scalp visible.

  • Dense curls have minimal spacing between each strand making the scalp less visible.

Every head of curls is different. For example, a baby can have sparse curls that are tight or loose curls that are dense. One of the best ways to show baby curls some love is with a relaxing head massage. You can do this with some warm oil in your hands, or you can opt for a baby brush. Here's our fave oil, and here's a brush preferred by our readers. If you're looking to keep your little one's curls light and bouncy, this baby wash smells lovely!
