Most towel warmers have their name and logo visibly printed on their product. We wanted ours to remind us of the cozy and calming space we were trying to create in our home.
We were originally attracted to Serene Life. We loved that their online store was dedicated to relaxation devices.
We have a smaller bathroom, so we decided to get the rectangle shape so that it didn't take up too much space. We originally thought that a two-towel cabin was perfect, because we tend to think bigger is better at accommodating our family's needs. But because we only use the warmer for after-showers (instead of heating large blankets or multiple towels for a pool), we discovered that space for one towel at-a-time is more than enough.
Our home also has wood flooring, so we opted for the wood trim. In person, the wood ended up looking shiny and cheap.
A pleasant bonus was the scented disc that can be inserted into the lid to enhance the warm towel experience even more. Unfortunately, we couldn't figure out how to securely attach the disc to the lid, so it kept falling into the heated bucket. The disc never melted or caused a mess, but it still made us feel uneasy.
In the end, we opted for the Comfier. The circular bucket is more compact and didn't take up too much space. The Comfier also has one button and actually heats up warmer than the Serene Life version (in our opinion).
Whichever version you choose please know that the edge of the towels get the hottest. This is the area where the fabric is more tightly woven to make sure the towel keeps its shape. If you wrap towels around your little one, just be mindful that the neck, back of the legs, and anywhere else where the towel may end may be slightly hotter than expected. To remedy this, you can wait a few seconds after removing the towel from the warmer, before using.
Do you need a towel warmer?
It's totally up to you! Heated towels elevate any bathing experience. The heat makes the towel fibers softer and makes bath and shower time more spa-like.
Are warm towels safe for kids?
Yes! Wrapping a warm towel around a wet child can be a loving memory they'll want to pass down to their own children.
If it's your first-time using a towel warmer, it may be best to check the heated towels to make sure there are no hot spots or uneven temps.
Does the outside of towel warmers get hot?
Yes! Not burning hot, but warm enough to notice and want to be cautious.
Does the towel need to be folded in the towel warmer?
Folded towels tend to be more compact and take up less space, so you'll be able to fit more inside the unit. Also a folded towel tends to have more even surfaces where the heat can be evenly distributed. If the towel is bunched up, some areas may become more densely packed where heat can easily get trapped.
Can the towel warmer burn the towels?
We have seen reviews where towel warmers have scorched towel tags. We use plush cotton towels and haven't had any problems after trying two different warmers.
How long does the towel stay heated?
Long enough to fully dry the body.
Can you use towel warmers year-round?
Yes! Having a warm towel minimizes the temperature shock experienced when leaving a warm shower/bath.
