Play-To-Learn Playgroup

Countdown-to-Kindergarten's playgroups are now virtual. Available in English, Spanish + Vietnamese. Intended for ages 0-3.


Egleston Square Branch Virtual Story Time & Take-Home Craft

March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th


Join Librarian Claire for stories, songs, and activities. After each story time, you'll get creative with a themed craft using a kit from the library or your home. For ages 2-4.


South Boston Branch Virtual Story Time

March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th


Join Librarian Dani for stories, songs, and movement. Tuesdays at 10:30 am. For ages 2-5.


Virtual Baby Lap Sit

March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th


Join us for songs, bounces, and short, interactive books. Ideal for ages 6-18 months.

Women's History Month Read-A-Loud Picture Book List for ages 0-8

You'll tackle a different STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) principle with hands-on activities. Intended for ages 5-9.


Little Bookworms

March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th

$5 (per child) or $60 (for 13 sessions)

Have animal-themed fun reading stories, singing songs, and even meeting an adoptable pet. Every Tuesday in the Education Room. For ages 1 to pre-k.


Little Grove Tuesdays @ Peter Looney Park

March 1st, 8th, 15th


Some lively music for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. For ages 0-5.


Curtis Hall PlayGroup

March 2nd, 4th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th, 30th


Children + parents free play while practicing tactile, fine + gross motor skills.


Kids Club on the Terrace @ Jamaica Plain Branch

March 2nd


We'll read The Little Wooden Robot and the Log Princess and make our own robot and princess stick puppets. Program takes place outdoors so bundle up! For ages 6-12.


Early Explorers @ Boston Nature Center

March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st

$60 (child members), $80 (child nonmembers), Free (adults) for 6 classes

Join a BNC Naturalist every Thursday to explore, learn + play. For ages 3-5.

Free 1st Thursdays @ Isabella Gardner Museum

March 3rd


Explore art, architecture, + seasonal horticulture in the Palace. Visit the studio between 5-9pm for hands-on art-making activities.


First Friday Nights Free @ Discovery Museum

March 4th


Explore the Museum and Discovery Woods with free admission on the first Friday night of each month throughout the school year.


Big Idea Saturdays @ MassArt Art Museum

Honor your hero at this drop-in event.


Winter Express: Fields Corner

Meet at Town Fields for complimentary hot drinks + more.


Public Skating @ Kelly Rink

March 5th

$2 (kids), $3 (adults)

An outdoor skating rink open 12/18/21 - 3/6/22 - weather permitting.


$1 Sunday Afternoons @ Boston Children's Museum

March 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th


$1 admission is back at the museum. Children under 12 months are always free. Online registration required.


Photo Walk: Taking Portraits on Location

March 7th


From taking a self-portrait to photographing groups, we’ll show you how to capture people in their environment with iPhone. For all skill-levels.


Furry + Feathery Friends in Dorchester

March 12th


Join us at the Neponset River to learn all about migration + hibernation + say hello to the animals who serve as the greeters for spring in Massachusetts. For families with children ages 5-12.


Signs of Spring in Dorchester

March 19th


Join a Boston Nature Center naturalist on a walk around Dorchester Park to experience the wonders of spring. Families will meet at the Adams Street entrance to Dorchester Park, next to 1001 Adams Street. For ages 5-12.
