Join Librarian Claire for stories, songs, and activities. After each story time, you'll get creative with a themed craft using a kit from the library or your home. For ages 2-4.


South Boston Branch Virtual Story Time

Virtual Baby Lap Sit

Nature Adventure Home School

$150 (members), $170 (non-members) for 6 classes

Join a BNC Teacher Naturalist every Wednesday to hike the trails, investigate the winter world and run around playing fun nature games. This is a drop-off program for ages 6 to 10.


Winter Crafternoons with Ms. Sherry

February 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd


Make simple and fun crafts in the comfort of your own home. For ages 0-12.


Kids Club on the Terrace @ The Jamaica Plain Branch

February 2nd, 9th, 16th


You'll celebrate the Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day and neighborhood friends. Best for ages 4+.


Early Explorers @ Boston Nature Center

February 3rd, 10th, 17th

$60 (child members), $80 (child nonmembers), Free (adults) for 6 classes

Join a BNC Teacher Naturalist every Thursday to explore, learn and play. For ages 3 to 5.


Free 1st Thursdays @ Isabella Gardner Museum

February 3rd


Explore art, architecture, + seasonal horticulture in the Palace. Visit the studio between 5-9pm for hands-on art-making activities.


Virtual Story Time with the Brighton Branch

Join Librarian Allie for stories, songs, + dancing. For ages 1.5-5, but all are welcome.


First Friday Nights Free @ Discovery Museum

Explore the Museum and Discovery Woods with free admission on the first Friday night of each month throughout the school year.

Lunar New Year @ Museum Of Fine Arts

$25 (adults), $10 (ages 7-17), Free (ages 0-6), Free (members)

Ring in the Year of the Tiger at the MFA! Activities include take-home art kits and a Chinese Lion Dance.


Family Service Day @ MSPCA

February 6th

$20 (per session)

Adult-child pairs get hands-on experience volunteering at an animal shelter. Tasks include cleaning cages, doing laundry and other animal care chores. For ages 5-10.

$1 Sunday Afternoons @ Boston Children's Museum

Bald Eagle Walk along the Neponset River

February 12th

$10 (adult member) $10 (child members), $13 (adult nonmembers) $13 (child nonmembers)

Join a BNC Teacher Naturalist as we explore the Neponset River Reservation in search of our national bird, the Bald Eagle. You will learn about the eagle's life history and how they survive winters in New England. For ages 10+.


Winter Animal Tracking at New Brook Farm

February 12th


Join Mass Audubon naturalists for a ramble through the woods. We will learn a bit about the history of the Brook Farm and explore the woods for winter animal signs including: tracks, scat, and chews. For ages 10+


Chinese New Year Parade and Cultural Village 2022

February 13th


Chinatown's 2022 Lion Dance Parade in celebration of the Year of the Tiger. Starting point: Phillips Square (by the corner of Essex Street and Harrison Avenue). For all ages.

Maple Sugaring @ Boston Nature Center

February 26th

$13 (child member), $13 (adult member), $15 (child nonmember), $15 (adult nonmember)

Join us as we tap, collect, and boil down sap from the maple trees found at the Boston Nature Center. You'll learn about the different techniques and equipment used across New England and why Sugar Maples are so unique. For ages 5+.
