Explore and Play @ Roslindale Branch

Free


Babies and toddlers will be able to explore different stations around the room with rattles, bells, mirrors, sensory bins, and other toys. Every Friday until August. For ages 0-2.

This is the only Boston museum (that we know of) open weekly until 9pm. Have a blast exploring hands-on science exhibits. For all ages. Call to reserve tickets (617) 723-2500.

Art Walk: Drawing from Observation @ Apple Chestnut Hill

Transform the way you observe and sketch the world around you. We’ll show you how being mindful of people, objects, or places in your surroundings will help you add interesting details to your drawings. iPad Pro and Apple Pencil devices will be provided. Recommended for all skill levels.




 

Life Under a Log

April 2nd

We will learn what an insect is and why they are important for the health of the natural world. We will explore the trails and roll logs to uncover and unearth insects and observe them up close with hand lenses. For ages 5+.




 

Vernal Pools Are Hopping @ Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary

April 2nd

$5 (child members), $10 (adult members), $7 (child non-members), $12 (adult non-members)


Look for evidence of wood frogs and spotted salamanders, use nets to find insects and other animals, and discuss the fragile nature of these important habitats.

Family Service Day @ MSPCA Animal Care + Adoption Center

April 2nd

$20 (per session)

Adult-child pairs get hands-on experience volunteering at an animal shelter. Tasks include cleaning cages, doing laundry and other animal care chores. For ages 5-10.




 

Harvard Art Museums

Gain a deeper understanding of art history by observing original works of art.
