Explore and Play @ Roslindale Branch

April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th


Babies and toddlers will be able to explore different stations around the room with rattles, bells, mirrors, sensory bins, and other toys. Every Friday until August. For ages 0-2.

Courtyard Crafternoons @ Boston Central Library

Visit the library every Friday at the Copley Library Courtyard for new crafts! For ages 6+.


First Friday Nights Free @ Discovery Museum

April 1st


Explore the Museum and Discovery Woods with free admission on the first Friday night of each month throughout the school year.


Late Nights @ The Museum Of Science

April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th

Free (for 4 people with museum pass)

This is the only Boston museum (that we know of) open weekly until 9pm. Have a blast exploring hands-on science exhibits. For all ages. Call to reserve tickets (617) 723-2500.


Jamaica Pond parkrun

April 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th


A weekly 5k event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!

Lion Dance With Gund Kwok

Visit the library for a Chinese Lion Dance with Gund Kwok. Performance includes: a Chinese New Year greet and meaning of the year tiger, interactive story of the origins and significance of the lion dance, and two Lion performances. For all ages.


Big Idea Saturdays @ MassArt Art Museum

April 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th


Visit MassArt Art Museum every Saturday in the Barkan Big Ideas Studio! Draw a portrait of or share a story about someone who has impacted your life. This is a drop-in event.

Art Walk: Drawing from Observation @ Apple Chestnut Hill

April 2nd


Transform the way you observe and sketch the world around you. We’ll show you how being mindful of people, objects, or places in your surroundings will help you add interesting details to your drawings. iPad Pro and Apple Pencil devices will be provided. Recommended for all skill levels.


Life Under a Log

April 2nd

$10 (child members), Free (adult members), $13 (child non-members), Free (adult non-members)

We will learn what an insect is and why they are important for the health of the natural world. We will explore the trails and roll logs to uncover and unearth insects and observe them up close with hand lenses. For ages 5+.


Vernal Pools Are Hopping @ Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary

April 2nd

$5 (child members), $10 (adult members), $7 (child non-members), $12 (adult non-members)

Look for evidence of wood frogs and spotted salamanders, use nets to find insects and other animals, and discuss the fragile nature of these important habitats.

Family Service Day @ MSPCA Animal Care + Adoption Center

April 2nd

$20 (per session)

Adult-child pairs get hands-on experience volunteering at an animal shelter. Tasks include cleaning cages, doing laundry and other animal care chores. For ages 5-10.


Harvard Art Museums

April 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th

Free (every Sunday!)

Gain a deeper understanding of art history by observing original works of art.


$1 Sunday Afternoons @ Boston Children's Museum

$1 (per person)

$1 admission is back at the museum. Children under 12 months are always free. Online registration required.


Story Time in the Courtyard @ Boston Central Branch

Visit the courtyard at the Central Library on Tuesday afternoons for an all-ages story time! Recommended for ages 0-7.
