How I Fart Our Breastfed Baby?

Updated: Sep 27, 2020

While I wrote a post about burping, I realized farting our infant was just as (if not more) important.

Why?

Because our breastfed children tend to burp on their own, but need help getting rid of gas the other way.

Signs our two month old needed to fart include her wriggling, making grunting noises and popping the breast in and out of her mouth.

Here’s how I farted our baby...

  1. Lay her flat on her back

  2. Bend her knees towards her belly button

  3. Rotate her legs in exaggerated circles.

She starts to smile and lets out 1, 2, sometimes 3 farts. I keep rotating in the opposite direction to see if she has any gas left.

Does your newborn fart a lot? How do you help him/her relieve their gas? Want to schedule a one-on-one session with me? Use code: HEART2HEART.

Until next time...

Love the journey,
